Hello all, I passed the Technician test today. 57 years old and new to Ham Radio. Now the fun begins. I also started studying for the General test today as well. Now the fun of buying the equipment. I know there will be some mistakes but that's the fun of the ongoing process. I thought I would let you all know. Once I get my call signs they will be listed. I'm really appreciating this site and all the info it provides.

Good Job man.

Yup. The hobby has many facets.

I like the antenna part.

And I'm getting back to Morse.

Neat way to talk about baseball and the stars and ...

I'm still in the learning phase, but that's ok.

Bob,

Name a ham radio guy or gal who is not in the learning phase.

If one isn't having fun in this crazy hobby, they're brain dead.

Say hey to the family?

So Bob,

May I ask what setup have you got thus far?

I'm morse-ing it on 20 meters today. One guy is a QRP station.

And SKCC thingies. Not sure what they are.

I don't have a setup at all. I will be buying Icom 7300 and maybe upgrade to a desk mic. The antenna I might get is the Comet CHA-250b vertical. I have very limited space and live on a golf course, so I'm trying to keep the neighbors happy but enjoy my radio.

Congrats! Since you are a 6 call, maybe we'll run into each other when you get your general.
