Our journey has begun! We Scandinavians have started the trip already, and we will all team up at Stockholm airport in the morning. A 24 hour trip takes us from SM to VK via stop over at UA3 and 9V1. What a hoot!  Grin Whole team then meets in Cairns to go through equipment one last time prior to boarding the vessel for a 4 day journey to Mellish.

CU all in the pile...

Best wishes and good DX! Please give Capt. Pete and the crew my best regards. You're in for a real treat! I wish I were tagging along, but will look for you in the pileups.

Part of the team already in Cairns, and we are now at leg two of our flight, a short stop-over in Singapore. Will arrive in Cairns later today.
All goes according to plan!

Wishing you fair winds and smooth seas. Our trip out there was somewhat less than pleasant.

Don't forget to follow our preparation at http://vk9ma.com/news/
Things are running accordingly to schedule, and today we pre-assembled and tested two StepIR and four CrankIR antennas.
One thing we will not suffer is shortage of antennas, we will have addition to the above also 4sq on 80/40/30 and likely a full size 1/4 wavelength on 160. Plus a number of dedicated receiving antennas for 160/80. Yesterday was coax-day with cutting 2000+ feet of RG6 and fitting F-connectors.
We are getting close to departure....

Lasse,

That is an impressive antenna farm for sure.  Travel safely and have a great dxpedition.

Thanks for posting all these updates and I’ll see you in the pileups.

Lets hope that they remembered to print out some great circle maps for every operating position. This practice will surely make sure South American wont be called while being to JA, or Europe called while the beam is towards Africa. Amazing how many DX'peditions  dont get such basics right. Time will tell whether this is another beam one way circus to work the world!
