Can the RFC from the power supply to the filaments be laid horizonal slightly above the chassis or does it need to be vertical so it won't interact with the chassis. This RFC is on a 7 inch long x 1/2 inch ferite form with #14 wire. I would like to place the single tube horizional with the RFC close by. How close?

   I'd think you can get within an 1" or so of an aluminum chassis before seeing any interaction. Look at the images for some SB-220 and other amps to get some idea of how close they mount to the chassis.
