I'm putting it here because, well, wider audience for high ed obscure hardware .
HP XW8400 Workstation Motherboard 442028-001 380688-003
HP is notoriously difficult about releasing board level schematics for its motherboards.
I'm not above replacing parts on a multilayer board so even a "core" not working board for parts would help.
I had a regulator I believe is used for the supply to the memory go poof.

Hostname: dual - OS: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64/x86_64 - Distro: Debian 8.6 - CPU: 4 x Intel Xeon (3000.000 MHz) - Processes: 221 - Uptime: 51d 2h 23m - Users: 4 - Load Average: 2.35 - Memory Usage: 9119.31MB/24164.89MB (37.74%) - Disk Usage: 237.84GB/266.25GB (89.33%)

You can see why I'd want to repair this one. I have a ridiculous amount of time and very little money invested here so any reasonable expense to repair is okay.
Just thought I'd try here before playing roulette with evilbay.

Well,
Its a RAID array, Software RAID but still multiple drives and for the original cost off lease surplus I get 3g 32g memory and a Tb of space . It waits for nothing. I'll be replacing the motherboard but I can wait for a fair price.

These things are hotrods and I don't expect everyone to get it . I just had to ask :-)

Thank You Kevin. Yes I know EvilBay has them. I've been in touch with several sellers about return and warranty. I'd like to get one that has some historical documentation. The early ones did have some issues. I wouldn't argue with a  XW8600 480024-001 439241-002

The reason i asked , is i went through this about 5-6 years back . The MB i was replacing went though several iterations . After going though a couple of boards on Ebay i came to the conclusion that i was spending a lot of time learning about obsolete krap. and when it was all finished all i  had 10 year old MBs Grin
Nothing fancy here ,just UBUNTU 14.04 LTS  AMD 6 core bulldozer on a 970 MB ,2 gEforce 7200s 2 Delta 44s, 2 drives ,and about a zillion soundcards and USB peripherals .
Oh wait , whats this , oh yeah 2 elecraft K3's , forgot about those.

Ooo i still got an open slot , not sure how that happened.
