Here lately when I first turn on the radio the receive is very low almost to the point of showing no S units at all.  Even if I turn the volume up the audio doesn't change.   If I merely key the mic then the receive comes back up to normal.  I can hear a click in the radio when I key the mic and then the click doesn't come back.  I cannot find any information on this in the user manual or on the Internet.

I saw a video on cleaning the receive filters for a 430 by putting power into the antenna connector (pos) and the body of the radio (neg).  I really don't want to try that but I'm kind of at a loss on what is going on.  I have absolutely no other problems with the radio.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks and 73.

It's most likely the T/R relay. If you feel like replacing it yourself I can give you more info.
