Title: WW1USA National WW1 Museum next event Sept 29/30
Post by: K0IZ on September 16, 2018, 09:16:46 AM
WW1 ended 100 years ago on November 11, 1918.  For four years the radio clubs of Greater Kansas City have operated special events at the National WW1 Museum.  These special event operations commemorate various important battles and other events of the war.  The second-to-last special event will be held Sept 29 and 30.  Special certificates and QSL cards are available for this one-in-a-lifetime event which commemorates the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.  This was the largest and bloodiest battle for the US, involving 1.2 Million Americans.

Several stations will be in operation on the lawn of the museum, with operation starting about 10am Saturday, the 29th and continuing until Sunday afternoon at 5pm. Most operation will be on 20M SSB with possible CW and digital.  Check out www.theworldwar.org/amateurradio for more information.  Also QST had a four page article about the events in the Feb 2018 issue, page 72.
