You mean one that makes mistakes (goofs)?

:-)

There are thousands on eBay.  What are you looking for?

If you're looking for a goofy RF generator, go to 27.185 MHz in the AM mode. You'll find plenty of goofy people generating RF on that frequency.

That's a large subject, especially if you hit the f instead of the d.

Good is a subjective term. A 1938 Jackson 260C in decent condition with a good 6C5 oscillator tube would be fine for aligning an AM table radio - and lousy for servicing a 2 Meter rig.

Generally speaking, newish signal generators that have become redundant for one reason or another are available at the big on line auction for fairly reasonable prices. Read the specs carefully to make sure the unit will do what you want to do - look at the pictures to make sure it has not been rolling around in a freighters bilge - and carefully examine the sellers feedback.

Higher is better, but sometimes a buyer will fail to do their homework and blame the seller. So read carefully - and skeptically!

Do you man an RF alternator?  You have to go back to the beginning of radio to get one of those!

"RF" is a broad spectrum.  You are going to have to specify just what frequencies you are trying to cover and what are you trying to do!

try ebay and do a search on Signal Generator.

You can probably pick up something reasonably stable for $3 - 4 hundred dollars.

Hi Christoper
Email me at kc0bxa4 at aol.com and I will try and help without the smart answers you have got so far.
It does depend on what you want to do with it as far as the frequency of operation and wheather you need an attenuator etc.
