Title: Where to find more info
Post by: WXWATCH on March 20, 2005, 02:04:05 PM
I'm new here so please excuse me. I have taken my test and awaiting my callsign from the FCC, but I have friends and a daughter that want to get involved in ham radio and I was wondering, how or where would I look to find info on starting a radio club in our area. We have heard from people that we know and that live close by that would be interested in a radio club, only problem is, how does a person start and where can I get more info on starting one.

Thank you and thanks eHam. You have been great!

David

David, congratulations on getting your ticket!  I'm guessing you may be interested in Skywarn or ARES activities for a new club.  You might want to start at http://www.arrl.net or http://www.skywarn.org/

Keep watching http://www.qrz.com for your call sign to be issued!

Good luck and 73,

Hi, David--

I know it's been a while since you posted about starting a club, but I thought I'd post here in case others were thinking about starting an amateur radio club. What I would suggest is that you contact the Affiliated Club Coordinator for the section that you're in. You can find a list of sections by going to http://www.arrl.org/sections.

Click on the appropriate section from the list to go to that section's webpage and then look for the Affiliated Club Coordinator in the right-hand column.
