Title: ICOM IC706MKIIG CW filters -- help
Post by: N7DKK on September 07, 2003, 06:39:19 PM
Think I've decided on the IC706MKIIG for an all-around get-started rig.  But I have a question.

I'm a CW OP and it seems like there are 13 filters available for this rig!

13!

It can't hold all 13, can it?

If I just want CW filters, what should I buy?

Your input is greatly appreciated!

I tune around with an FL-223 1.9 kHz filter, and then switch in the FL-101 250 hz filter.  Works great.

Hello Dave and all other IC-706 MKIIG users
I use the FL-100 on my 706 G and I am happy with the results. If you just work cw use the correct FL-100 in the menu. If ypu do a lot of PSK and MFSK you can cheat and have the FL-100 help you filter out the crowd by setting the FL-223 instead of the FL-100 you can select narrow in ssb and the FL-100 gives you 500 Hz bandwith. just use your if shift to select your station in the bandpass. I hope that helps.
