Title: Software convert SSB recieved by FM?
Post by: AFTERBURNER on August 08, 2005, 05:05:27 PM
I listen on a shortwave radio that cannot recieve SSB, voice sounds distorted. I was wondering if there is a way, since I can hook the radio up with the audio jack to my computer is there a way to get the SSB to sound normal? Does anyone know of a program that could do this?

Thanks in advance.

No. The FM receiver does not have the approprate detector for SSB. No amount of post processing (audio) will clean up the distorted signal.

Okay, thank you. Sounds like the only option would be investing in a SSB reciever, thanks.
