Title: saving a youtube video Post by: KM3K on October 21, 2010, 07:19:28 PM Next month I'm scheduled to give to our local club a 40 minute talk about VSWR.
YouTube has several neat videos showing how a standing wave comes about, anyone of which I'd like to make part of my PowerPoint presentation. But, so far, based on my inability to save and replay a YouTube video, I'm thinking that it cannot be done. Has anyone a way to save/replay a YouTube video to PowerPoint? Everything was really clicking along just great until I tried to load the video-file into PowerPoint. My PowerPoint won't take the MP4 file. It'll take many kinds of other video-files. I'm in an area where I don't know one video-file type from another. Maybe the problem is I'm using Vista; I'll have to check if an upgrade to Win7 helps. Anyway, as I'm typing this, the thought came to mind that maybe I can temporarily leave PowerPoint and run the video from my thumb-drive; I'll have to check to see if that is a possibility. Thanks again for the very significant lead. 73 Jerry KM3K Title: RE: saving a youtube video Post by: W6BP on October 22, 2010, 09:19:24 AM Yes, just play the videos in another program. I use Vista, too (ugh!), and my favorite video player is VLC. It's free, and can be downloaded here:

It's the best program I've used for saving videos so far. It downloads and converts videos of several types. Works with several browsers too.
