Title: UTC CLOCK FOR Win 7 DESKTOP
Post by: VA3UTC on August 08, 2012, 09:48:50 AM
Could someone recommend a 'free' downloadable UTC clock for my Windows 7 desktop ? I'm hesitant to take one from Google searches as you often end up with many unwanted add-ons that way. I prefer asking other amateurs.
Thanks in advance.

Install a clock gadget from the gadget toolbar.  I have several installed as you can add multiples and set them for the time zones you want to monitor.  I have Hawaii, London, Cairo, Melbourne Tokyo as well as local and UTC setup on my desktop.  Best of all, they are free.

I use the one (Clock Gadget) packaged with Win7
Configure with Options button on gadget.

Here are the instructions to ADD a second clock at desired time zone OR UTC.

You don’t even need to download a world clock gadget in Windows 7 !
Why? Because there’s already a world clock built-in!
You can add up to two additional clocks to your taskbar (if you need more than two skip this part).

You might want to look at the "AGS Digital Multi-Clock" gadget for the Windows 7 sidebar.  It can be configured to show any eight time zones.

I use qlock 1.88 free version. It is very flexible and you can have as many separate time zones running as you wish. It can also be told to stay on top of any other program you are running at the time. It is well worth the price and plays well with Win 7. You can download it at http://www.qlock.com
