Title: WOUXUN Channel Search Question
Post by: N8HO on December 26, 2012, 07:10:06 AM
I recently programed my Wouxun two band HT.  I like the HT, but when I begin scanning the preprogramed frequencies, it will pause at frequencies with activity for about five seconds then continue scanning until it finds the next frequency with activity.  I would like to set it up so that when activity is detected, it remains on the frequency until the activity ceases.  I am using a programming cable with this rig.

If talking KG UVD1P it is menu 19 set to SE, i.e scanning will not resume.

Seems like you're talking about scan delay--something that most receivers can do to pick up replies to transmissions.  Five seconds does seem like a long delay, but....  If--IF--you can find it in the menu system on the HT, you may be able to turn that off, or maybe vary the delay time.

There are three settings for scanning control.  Time delay, carrier delay, and 'search'.  The time delay is that 5 second thingy.  If you want it to stay on that channel until the transmission ends put the 'carrier' setting in.  When the carrier disappears the radio resumes scanning.  I haven't tried it but I think the 'search' feature means that when the radio finds a carrier it stops scanning, just stays there till you hit the scan button again.

Doc is correct. Changing the scan to "CO" will keep in on the active channel.
