Title: What Short Path direction do you need the most entities?
Post by: KY6R on April 04, 2013, 10:10:28 AM
For me its a 3 way tie - 3 NE,  3  SE. and 3 SW

NE - FT/T, E3, FT/G
SE - KP1, 3Y0/B
SW - FT/Z, KH5K, VK0/H

KP1 and KH5K will be chip shots, VP8/S also pretty easy.

I do not need anything on a NW path SP or LP, because what I need SE are all much closer and non polar on the SP.

The three in the NE all would have a much better LP route - especially on the morninng grey line.

So, I could get away with just SW and SE

SW - 6
SE - 3

SE for me, by far. VP8G, VP8S, FT5W, FT5Z, VH0H, FR/T.
NW to Over-the-pole for XZ, P5 and BV9.
SW for CE0X, KH5K and KH9
Wet noodle for KP1.

I need so much of East Asia still, and that is NW out of Ohio

Rich,

Mine are kind of scattered, but mostly to the eastern half from me:

FR(T)    73 deg  ENE
FT(Z)    84 deg  E
KH5      270 deg W
KP1      178 deg  S
VK0(H)  127 deg SE (off the list next January, crossing my fingers!)

73,

Don, K2DC

From VK3, it's due South, over the pole.
The VP's - I didn't hear VP8ORK at all, and I haven't heard Oleg RI1ANU even faintly, since he's been on South Shetland. I've worked Bob VP8LP Falklands on a few bands, and heard VP8NO yesterday, but I ended up in QSO with 5W0M while they were setting up, and missed VP8NO.
My most difficult area is the South Atlantic, the West coast AF and East coast SA are tough from here. It's a difficult polar path, and I also have some blocking from the Great Dividing Range. I had thought of putting in a remote station on top of the range (it's in the middle of the property) but left that in the "too hard" basket.
Just about everything in the Northern Hemisphere is pretty easy (except Mt Athos!)
So, Honor Roll will remain something that will only happen if I keep the interest (and alive) over the next few cycles.
There's plenty of other goals in the hobby.
