I have an ICom ID-5100 in my car. I wanted to know if I need to use 2 external speakers, or if there is a speaker or setup that would allow for connecting of both external outputs to a single unit.

Thanks in advance.

On my Kenwood TM-D710 I can set it to use both outputs so left side is on the left, right on the right or put both left and right through a single speaker. Is that not an option on your Icom?

I am not sure. I'll check. I read or heard somewhere ( I don't recall where ) that mobile speakers exist that allow for up to three inputs.

The November 2013 issue of QST has an article by Ward Silver, N0AX, in the "Hands-On Radio" column about how to build a dual input into a simple communications speaker.
