The FCC is cutting back on its enforcement personnel.

Now, nationwide there will only be 2 "Tiger Teams", and prepositioned equipment scattered around the country, but NO one to man it or do enforcement on a regular  basis outside of the DC Metro area.

 Sad

Sorry to rain on your parade, but the words:

"COLD DAY in HELL" , have a particular strong resonance here.

you're not being fair.  FCC did something about white-goods RFI... they exempted it.

they are following the CB Craze pattern for the rest now, with the chopped budget.  they are saying, "you are now free to use the airwaves with things that are not radio transmitters.  don't make me stop the car!"

This is what happens when special interest groups find a lack of enforcement is in their interest.  Look at the qualifications of past FCC Commissioners, compare that to the political hacks on the Commission now.  Cha ching.

considering the direction Your Government Inaction (tm) is going, FCC would team up with DoJ and USAF to deal with interference issues.  they'd send up an armed drone with its control channels on and near the frequency of reported RFI.  "wherever it hits probably had it coming," says a spokesman...

Don’t waste your time with them, here’s proof of FCC indifference to RFI affecting amateur radio: http://www.eham.net/ehamforum/smf/index.php/topic,81179.msg577685.html#msg577685
And it still keeps on chugging along unabated…
