I want to make it clear that I am not accusing K4QJ, Simmie L. Walker, Jr., of attempting a scam.

Some is posing as K4QJ and attempting to scam me.

On 8 January I placed an WTB ad on eHam and QTH for WJ/CEI receivers, non-synthesized/continuously tunable and related accessories.

On 10 January, 05:29, I received an email from a scammer purporting to be Simmie Walker offering a WJ-8615P for $1,100 plus shipping.

Simme Walker

The email address is simmie.walker@aol.com

The REAL Simmie WAlker apparently is inactive on QTH, QRZ and eHam.  His QRZ profile is "unmanaged" and doesn't list an email address.

The time of receipt, the somewhat "off" English, the tightly cropped pictures, and the "slicK" wording of the ad sent me running for my WJ catalogs.  Not there.  A little more detective work led me to KA5FUN's 28 July 2013 "FOR SALE" ad on QRZ.

One of the scammer's photos, after editing, shows the 8615P with the SAME display as the one in -FUN's ad.  Plus the scammer 100% copied -FUN's ad, including his typo.

I mean, these scumbags are so lazy, they can't even write their own ad; they have to steal somebody else's work!

I sent the scammer an email asking him where the rig was because shipping would be a lot. STAY TUNED!  I'm going to see how far I can push this jerk!

PS:  When I copied the scammer's email, - FUN's photos were lost!.
