Here's a special one for me... XX9LT via LOTW for a JT65 QSO... this is my DXCC entity # 200 on digital modes. I started with RTTY just over a year and a half ago, then ventured into PSK and JT modes. I mostly only call stations when they are a new country for me. In fact, so far I've only made exactly 300 QSOs on digital modes. That's a QSO and a half per entity, LOL Marvin VE3VEE

That's a nice catch Marvin. I only have XX9 on SSB. With declining band conditions I don't think I'll work XX9 again until cycle 25.
I also chase the digital DXCC. Currently I have 271 worked and 264 confirmed. I use DX Labs and it will tell me if there's a new country on digital that gets spotted. Nowadays I don't have many opportunities but with 200 confirmed you still have lots of opportunities.

Thanks Jonathan. I actually thought I worked a pirate. He had a good -7dB signal, but it seemed like there were no other callers at that time but me so I wasn't really sure if it was the real XX9LT. His call sign has been used by slims more than once. The LOTW confirmation was a pleasant surprise.

Dang. -7db is a pretty strong signal on JT65. Nice catch! A lot of my JT65 contacts on the low bands are less than -20db.

Yes, -7dB, that's why I suspected it might had been a pirate! The CONDX must have been good. Marvin VE3VEE

With sincere gratitude to Gene UA9AB. I received in the mail today 2 gems. Both for QSOs dating back to April of 1989 !!! Franz Joseph Land from a log entry that I didn't realize was FJL until I typed in the paper logs to electronic log and Uzbekistan from the very next day. This is awesome because I've never been able to work either of these entities since . It's amazing that both of them are still active and kept their logbooks. If any of you are missing old Qs from the USSR give Gene a shout. His email is good on QRZed .com and he is an avid stamp collector. I'm sending him some nice commemorative stamps as well as a bunch that I've received from around the world. Happy Happy dance time !! Gary

Gary, congrats! What was the call sign of the FJL station? A friend of mine was recently unsuccessfully trying to get a QSL (via a German manager) from an FJL station from from the late 80s early 90s and I wonder if it could be the same operator.

UA1P** and UK1P** used to be FJL back in the "days" I got UA1PAM from Rudolf Island worked 1981. and it shares QSL with UK1PGO (which should be a club station then)

Hi Marvin. That was UA1OT Roman from April 1989. The card says he was on Kheiss Island FJL. I believe he was there for a couple of years. Cheers
