This was surprising: I was looking through which countries I have confirmed on LOTW and I do not have any confirmations for Russia despite having worked them on 40, 20, 17, and 15m! I guess I have been working all of the wrong stations there  Smiley

But yet I have the small Russian country of Kalingrad confirmed on all three bands that I have worked them on (40, 20, and 15m)....

LOTW
BD4WN 30m JT65
HS7WMU 30m JT65
RI1ANC 30m, 40m CW

eQSL
VK6IR  80m JT65 eQSL (good for 5BWAZ, zone 29)
UN7TK 80m eQSL (ditto, zone 17)

On 5BWAZ, I am worked and confirmed to 198 zones.  Only 21 and 22 on 80m to go!

That's impressive, Larry!  I've been stuck at 196 for about a decade-- still need zones 18, 22, 23, and 24 on 80m.  So far have worked all mine on CW, except for one zone on 10m SSB.  I've not tried JT65 yet.

JT65 has been a big difference maker for me.

I've worked a lot of my problem zones that way.  Zones 17, 24, 29 were all worked that way (29 I had CW, but the JT65 one confirmed).  I did manage 18, 19, 26, and 28 via CW.

Still, JT65 highly recommended.  As a bonus, most confirm promptly on eQSL, which is (as you no doubt know) the equivalent to LOTW for 5BWAZ purposes.

You do have to run a little higher power than you do on other HF bands, but it seems to be working out for me.  I've seen a fair amount of BY on 80, so that one is a particularly good one for you.

I've also done some of the 40m zones that way, but only after the fact.  If I still needed any, I would have probably been able to do quite a few (as judged by my recent success with JT65 on 30m).

I did zone 23 years ago with JT1CO who is still pretty active.

Good luck.

Two more JT65 on 30m winners:

5Z4/DL2RMC
3D2TS

Confirmed almost as soon as I worked them (for which I thank both ops).  Who says JT65 is slow?  If you consider the total time between starting to work and hitting LOTW, these are among the fastest I have ever done!

Heehee, good point! Occasionally I've uploaded to LOTW even before the JT65 QSO ended. There's plenty of time to do it during transmissions, LOL.  Grin Grin Grin

I just received 4 bands from Charlie, VR2XMT, going back to 2011 and 2012.  I have more recent QSOs but he must not have uploaded those yet.
