 ISE,  were they just plug and play or did you have to replace the ballast ?

Feit brand doesn't need to remove the ballast.  Unless it doesn't work in which case you do need to remove the ballast.  Some brands feed both power and neutral to one end of the tube.  Some feed from opposite ends.  Power and neutral on one end, always have to rewire.  Power on opposite ends you can generally keep the ballast without rewiring.   But, if the ballast is still in the circuit you lose a couple Watts and still have whatever noise the electronic ballast generates.  Better to disconnect the ballast.  Takes a couple minutes and some extra wire and wire nuts.  And sometimes strong language when you see how the last guy wired things.

Be sure to label the fixture near the bulbs to tell someone in the future that the ballast is not connected, and not to use florescent bulbs.
