Hi guys. I've seen the famous toshiba 2sc2652 transistors on ebay, which apparently were discontinued years ago.   These transistors are used in Icom and Yaesu solid state amps. Are they real or not?

Herr is the link:

When purchasing on Ebay please remember the following rules:

1) If something looks too good to be true then it probably is.

2) As when playing poker, if you can't spot the sucker in the first five minutes then you're it.

When the supply of these transistors started to dry up they became like gold dust and began to be exchanged for many times their original value. All of those transistors will have gone by now, installed into millions of transceivers all over the world, so what's left is of doubtful quality.

If I need an RF power device then I purchase it from RF Parts and just suck up the cost and the import charges, then I get a genuine device in my mailbox.

If Toshiba don't make them any more, they aren't losing any sales. Were the major users companies building ham equipment? If so, pi**ing off even a few thousand hams doesn't have much effect on the bottom line. So how much would the legal costs be to chase it down, especially in China where the Japanese are not the most popular people? Almost certainly just not worth the hassle of doing anything about it.

Do not buy them, been there done that, they are fall-outs from a previous run with hi leakage. I bought 4 a while back that were bad and they would not take them back. Simply replace with MRF-488 transistors which are drop in replacement

I also stock 2SC2652's from pull outs (FL-7000) if you need a few

eBay is FULL of counterfeit parts sales on most ALL parts, beware

Probably right which is why almost no people mentioned in some of the other posts in the thread play poker. Baccarat is the preferred game, the sucker is the dealer/house or.. playing it big is the name of the game.
