I have 2 Kenwood TMD-710s they both have the same problem.I sent them to Kenwood for repair.

When the power is on,in receive mode they well turn off and on. I tried the full reset but that was no help, but they now stay on in receive mode, and now turn off,and back on when I key the mike to transmit.

I use one in my car,and one in the truck and use a mobile antenna
Any body have any Ideas

Have you checked the inline fuses and fuseholders for a tight connection and no corrosion?

I never make a mistake. I thought I did once but I was wrong.

Check all connections to see if they are loose. Ensure the wiring to the power supply is clean and securely in place at both ends.

I have a TMD710g and I noticed that the wire connecting the head and chassis didn't have the strongest, firmest click when slid in at one end. (Can't recall which precisely but want to say the head.)
