I'm having trouble programing the 3 function buttons on the Kenwood SMC-34 microphone to work with a Kenwood TH-D74. In the transceiver settings menu #944, PF1, PF2, and PF3 for the microphone are programmed. However, the buttons don't work on the microphone. Is there a trick to programming these function buttons?

Make sure the lock slide switch (if installed) on the back of the mic is turned off

Thanks. I had the switch in the unlocked position and function buttons were not working. However, after you post, I flipped the switch back and forth several times and now the function buttons are working!  I'll have to watch it. Maybe a faulty lock slide switch. Thanks again!
