Ok people, this wasn't intended to turn into a who-knows-what-and how-much about SDR radios, theory and application. It was intended to answer what should have been a simple question about the inner workings of the HDSDR software and the RSP-1A receiver with regard to filtering abilities. I didn't ask for an evaluation of SDR knowledge.

But I got what I needed. Thank you. Carry on.

You started it.

I guess you know that there is no IF in the receiver that you described.  There is a computational engine that manipulates the number and placement of poles and zeros in a normalized filter algorithm.  You are not really moving anything so much as directing the software to change several variables in the transform and produce a different shape factor.

But you also know that of course. Roll Eyes  So it looks to me like you question was really just a platform for you to tell everyone how much you know.  Wow, I'm compressed. Shocked
