Addicted to ham radio? It is like any other addition. You do it to keep from realizing you are addicted to it.
Best solution is practice a form of meditation that helps you to be detached from or objective to your thoughts. Then just go cold turkey. You will feel great anxiety and angry emotions will rise to the surface. Let them pass. Each time you succeed at resisting the urge to get on the radio, it will loose its grip. After a few weeks you will be able to get on the radio once a week if you like and walk away completely if you prefer. All addictions are rooted in anger and denial.
I licked ham radio completely. I mostly just hang around to post. Operating is boring, mostly.

So, you trade one addiction for another and take the moral high ground?   Grin

Another reason that ALL posters should be made to post using their actual callsign.  If they don't have one Then they should be made to post using their Actual Name or not post at all.

Hanging around to troll and make negative posts about a hobby that you gave up reveals a lot about your psyche. Sad.

(Suspicious about his identity....especially bringing up addictions.)

I have nothing to do with this post. I would appreciate if my call sign not be brought up with this post. Thank You.
I also agree that a user should have to use there call sign as a user.
P.S. I  am working on Extra upgrade. I  have found a program called Ham Test Online seems to be a good program so far. Program states if I practice 1 hour a day I should be able to pass test in 30 days.73s

I've watched the "Replies" remain at zero for a long time.  But then someone had to comment and here it goes.

IGNORE these trolls.  There is no place for them here! And I agree with the callsign necessity!  Ya hear this Mr. Moderator?

I personally like the term KTNing. It's an apt way to memorialize you contributions to this site.  Wink

Oxy will break your addiction to ham radio but the end result will not be so nice.
