The 63rd Weinheim VHF Meeting, Hamfest and Fleamarket will be held this year from September 7th to September 9th with the main event on Saturday September 8th. There is easy access from the A5 autobahn and plenty of off-site parking.

Full details (in German, Dutch, English, French, Italian. Spanish and Portuguese) can be found at https://ukw-tagung.org/ including photographs of previous events.

See you there!

Hmmmm, over a hundred and sixty views and no comments, where are the German hams on this site?

OK, I'm not expecting anyone to fly from the USA to this event, but you missed a good one here. Imagine if someone took over a high school for a day and used it for a hamfest, that's what they had. The theaters were used for the three streams of lectures, the hallways were full of traders selling their wares and the outside was full of flea market tables. In addition to that the school cafeteria was serving food and drink and there was lots of seating for when your legs got tired.

How big? It took me two and a half hours to go around everything and I walked away with a bag of interesting stuff including CW key #4 that needs a bit of TLC on the wooden base.

Transport was easy, it's a brisk twenty five minute walk from the station and anyone arriving by car would have found lots of off-site parking. I even saw a shuttle bus.

One thing I need to mention. This was a hamfest dedicated to the VHF/UHF and above community and the lectures and contents of the tables reflected this. Yes, there were the usual connectors and cables for sale, but there were lots of other stuff that operated far above HF frequencies.

Recommended. I'll be back next year.
