I am looking to get a power supply to use my mobile (ft 7800) radio in my home- I seen some inexpensive Pyramid (?) powwer supplies but I am also thinking of making a "to-go-box" and use it inside and just take it outside to charge when needed- I am looking for any observations or cautions on using a to go box inside- any ideas?

Having a battery in addition to a power supply would be OK, but I wouldn't want a battery in lieu of a power supply.  Running a battery alone nearly assures your battery is not 100% at any given time, assuring shorter battery life and going dead at the most inopportune times.

My recommendation is an "indoor" AC supply and then play with the  "to-go" box at your leisure.....and get an education at the same time.
