I have a FT 950 with a serial port that's gone bad. I would love to find someone within 100 miles of NYC so I can take the rig in my car for repair. I know there are people who do repair but most of the ones listed in eham reviews are too far away for that drive.

I just found two places nearby but neither are reviewed in eham.net
One is Advanced Specialties Electronics in Lodim NJ and the other is KJI Electronics in Cedar Grove, NJ Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about either of these?

Best to check Reviews also.

I think I'd pass on Landair in NY....

Wow, what a story about the attempted purchase of his entire stock. I also got the grand tour about 7 years ago when I first went to him for some repair. It's an impressive collection for sure. I had no idea about any NYPD action against him though.
