Back in the early 80s, I think there was a ham radio group in NYC called Metroplex that ran an amazing collection of linked repeaters on every band - 10, 6, 2, 220 and 440. 

Is that club still alive, and do the repeaters still exist?

As I remember, no one else had linked repeaters like those anywhere else in the US.
