I have a 1000 watt Bird dummy load, model DA-173/GRM-10, and I am looking for the Male connector on the front of the unit.
If any one knows the connector type I would very much appreciate your response.

Looks like a standard "N" connector.

These are large flange  Quick Change connectors and available from Bird dealers. Considerably larger flange than standard type N. 1" versus 1.25"

If you are putting together a collection of test equipment keep in mind that other Bird test equipment has the same easily swapped connector.

Thank you for your replies, and yet another problem solved for me as to where and how to find difficult parts.  I tried locating one at the Wheaton Hamfest last month but came up empty.  Everyone who reads and responds to these many requests for help/information are really contributing to the longevity of our hobby and equipment.  Thank you....Pete

The purpose of the Quick Change connector is to allow you to easily configure Bird test equipment to your preferred connector style.  You could swap everything out for BNCs or UHF connectors instead of the standard N connectors.
