Protocol would dictate that you should have used HIS callsign in that case.

Could be long delayed transmissions you're hearing, maybe from the '40s when someone else had that call sign.  Smiley

Well apparently whoever was using your callsign has not visited EHam. If he has he would be smart enough not to use your call. Why would he want to embarrass himself?

Did you happen to also hear Adolf Hitler's voice? Was there anything that sounded like Jody Foster?
Maybe I'd just better stay right here in good old 1955.

I don't think he was being rude. I think he meant because he'd then realize that it was an active call sign.

On edit: MU: I left Germany in 55 heading to the states. Great year. Oh, and as we pulled into the NY harbor, you could have heard a pin drop with our group. It was almost reverent. Most of us had been away for at least 2 years. (3 for me.) That statue was a beautiful sight!!! Really a touching moment. Twice in later years did I feel that way: Touching "The Wall" and standing over the "Arizona" in Hawaii.

No, I do not know you. But I have read enough of your rants. And anyone else who has read those rants, I doubt they would want to use your call. Figure that one out on your own.
