ok not tryin to bash here.. just tryin to figure this out....

icoms and kenwood RxERs... that are prices thru the roof for i wouldnt say totaly dead bands but there sure isnt what use to be out there..
yet there tryin to get darn near factory prices for the RXers....

i just dont see it... my bad if iam wrong.. again not tryin to bash anyone... it is what it is.. but dang it .. 400 bucks for a icom RXer that more or less all it is is a 718 .. with out the transistors.. and other icoms and KWs in the 250 to 400 range..

again NOT BASHING... just tryin to get my head around it..

its across the board.. the big 3 icom kw and yaesu.. the older ones in the 20 years plus age range. heck even 15 years..
the middle of road RXers. theres few out there now for sale. so i dont want to pinpoint one model or another..

They don't make them anymore, so if you want to buy a table top shortwave receiver, as opposed to a portable, you need to buy a used model.  This keeps the demand up.

OK, they're TRYING to "get darn near factory prices" -- but are they actually GETTING those prices?

If they are, that's not uncommon on eBay, where many bidders just don't know --or bother to check-- the prices of new gear.

That said -- to "get your head around it"--  remember that any particular item --radio or otherwise-- is "worth" what any particular buyer is willing to pay.  Wink

With the performance per dollar of modern Chinese built Tecsuns and Sangeans you don't really need a more expensive radio for most HF and SW listening. Just sayin'.
