Tom, how is it going?

Since I last posted, I got my own K3 working on WSJT-X (it runs my 2m EME setup).  There are a lot of settings in the radio and in WSJT-X to get right.

On the rig,  setting USB instead of data/packet worked much, much better, for instance, though that may have more to do with how the transverter hardware works than whatever problems you may still be having.

I head help from people who understand this better than I do.  The K3 is a great radio, but OMG there are a lot of settings.

Thanks guys.

I really don't know if I can keep on plugging along working one station at a time. It's very boring. I'm not sure if this is "normal" or not but I counted eleven in a row completely red Band Activity screens. This was during the middle of the day here when the band wasn't even open to North America, Europe or beyond. If I'm still "into" FT8 I will try to get F&H configured this weekend otherwise it was kinda a fun experience.

 Thanks much guys.

FT8 is going well & it has turned into my "standby" mode when CW activity is low. (which appears to be all too often now) Just broke the 4,000 QSO mark with maybe 1/5 of those being FT8. I will be implementing some major upgrades to the station from a new QTH next month. New QTH is 30 feet from the ocean with clear & unobstructed shots to JA/EU/NA. Will hopefully be putting a lot more EU/NA stations into the FT8 log come mid June. All of this along with juggling a 50+ hour work week.

I'm still manually selecting the FT8 band from the drop down box. CAT just didn't work out with the KX3. I have forgotten to select the correct band a few times now & had to edit the FT8 log manually which is not too big of a deal. After all is said & done probably no need for F&H mode as of right now. Might be needed next month after the big station improvements. Still plugging away working stations one by one which is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Thank goodness WPX CW is this upcoming weekend.
