I have an Anytone 868, programmed to deal with Brandmeister and a hotspot.

When someone transmits on a talkgroup, and my radio receives the audio, the display on the 868 shows the person's name and callsign.

When they stop, the callsign disappears, but the name stays until someone else transmits.

Is it possible to have the call sign stay instead of the person's name?  How?

Thanks
Chris

It's not just the 868, the MD380 does that too.  But with 380Tools installed there's a "netmon" feature that will show a page of recent activity which is timestamped.  You can leave it on and not have to hear the activity to look back and review it.

The caller info also vanishes with the later MD-UV380... if you are using a Pi-Star hotspot (or perhaps others too), you can keep an eye on past activity with a mobile phone web browser.

Incidentally, the newer version of the AnyTone (D878UV) has Talker Alias, which works in a similar way to the short user message in D-Star. Talker Alias was incorporated into the DMR specification a couple of years ago. With T/A there is no need to load a database of thousands of calls/names.

Chris,

There's a setting in the CPS, I'll look at your codeplug again because mine shows callsign at bottom of screen.
