Hi all, in the past I've never been in the market for a QRP rig per se (although I have owned FT- 817/817NDs in the past; don't currently have one now)....

I have a specific requirement for a QRP rig for the following purpose(s) and would appreciating hearing suggestions for a cost-effective solution -- read on.

I have a 630m TX Converter which will accept 1-1.5W MAX on the 80m band (3.66-3.68Mhz) to output 25W @ 475kHZ.
I also have a LF/VLF converter which will receive 0-520kHz and upconvert to 30m band (10.000-10.520Mhz).

At a minimum if I could find something to drive the TX converter (80m QRP rig) that would be great. Greater still if there was a multiband QRP rig that would operate split 80m TX / 30m RX to operate both the TX converter and the RX converter on the same radio - that would be even better. I will typically use this setup for digital JT9/WSPR or something.

What products are out there and would be worthwhile to investigate aside from an Elecraft/Yaesu Multiband QRP rig.....I am looking for value solutions. I am also potentially interested in hearing of model suggestions that I could try and find used as well. I would prefer a separate radio solution rather than computer-based SDR (due to limited computer processing requiring operating SDR software and WSJT-X software simultaneously). But hey....let's hear what you have to say....

For the transmitter, convert a BITX 40 to 80m?  Use a second convert BITX40 for the 30m receive.

Or use the multiband uBITX?

For CW work check out the QRPlabs QCX, by dialing the voltage down
you can get to very power power. 

That will get you a decent RX also a good keyer.  TX can be up to 5-6W
at 13.8V but the RX runs well down to 7V where the TX will push out
about 150-200mW.

There are plenty of choices for Transverter work as most need little power
from the TX.  I'm more used to VHF and UHF transverters but they are
the same basic thing.

It would be helpful if you redesigned to put the exciter and receiver in the same ham band, unless you have a QRP transceiver that can run in split-band mode.  I don't recall if the Icom 703+ can easily do that.  Also might be wise to insert a 6 dB pad in the exciter output to prevent overdriving the transverter input.  FT8 runs continuously keyed for 5 minutes, things will get quite warm.
