Author Topic: What coax connector attached to a UG-1288/U adapter?  (Read 299 times)

I have a UG-1288/U adapter floating around in my spare parts bin.  I know and recognize the type-C connector on one end but the other end of the adapter is this gigantic threaded connection that appears to have attached to some type of coax.

The C connector was used in some radios in the 1950's and 1960's (like the R-390/A) so there may be some hams on this forum who remember what this adapter was for.

The nearest I can guess is that it would be a coax run that maybe went to an elephant cage array? I know that they had cableways that had hundreds of coaxes running through them between the arrays and the comms gear.

Does anyone have an idea? You can google an image of UG-1288/U to see what I mean.

thanks
