Hi.  i am having a recurring issue with my Kenwood ts-850s/at.
trying to get digital up on it, have a usb signalink device.  It's cable plugs into
the 13 pin port with no issues.  However, aftermarket user built cables do not
plug in at all.  i don't want to force it in.  one ebay seller found cutting the
connector helped, alas not with mine.  i would like to take out the usb signalink
device.  is this typical for this radio?

There are 2 different sizes of pins made for DIN connectors.  I had the same problem when I made a video cable for an old Commodore 64.  The pins were too large for the jack on the computer.

Check the pin size in your plug and compare to the jack.
