I was able to set up WSJT-X/JTAlert to upload FT8 log contacts to my N3FJP logging software.  However, I have some some contacts that preceded my linking the softwares, and those do not appear in the N3FJP program.  My question: Short of making manual entries, is there a way of getting these WSJT-X log contacts into N3FJP?  N3FJP has an import function (File > Import) but will this cause the imported file to overwrite everything else?

Dave as you "know", I do't really "know", BUT my first impression is that it will NOT wipe out what is in there but simply append. That is the way most logging programs work. If it was me, I would see about how to export the entries into a file, then try the import and see what happens. Smiley.. but I am kinda of a "go for it" kind of guy.

James - I’m hoping there’s a way to pick and choose which contacts to export to N3FJP.  Of course, then there’s the matter of what happens when they’re sent from there to LoTW, where the contacts in question are already logged.  (Again, thanks for all your FT8 assistance.)

Yes Dave. You can Import your logs to ACLog BUT...Be sure you map the modes correctly (FT8, SSB, etc...) before importing. It will only add to your current logs.

Rick (K4RKY) — Unfortunately, here’s what I did, in sequence:

Uploaded my first few FT8 contacts from WSJT-X to LoTW.
Set up WSJT-X/JTAlert to upload FT8 contacts to N3FJP/ACLog.
Uploaded N3FJP/ACLog to LoTW.

The problem is that the first few WSJT-X contacts are on LoTW.  If I use N3FJP/ACLog’s import function, I assume it will import not just the few initial contacts, but all of them, including the ones that are already in the N3FJP/ACLog.

Luckily, on reflection, it’s not that big a deal and I’ll leave well enough alone.  This seems to be a case of being unable to un-ring the bell (or you can’t get there from here).
