I have a Kenwood 830, I would like to hook a Dentron GLA-1000B to it. My problem is how? I have a amp cable that came with the 830, it has two rca type plugs on it, one is marked alc and the other is marked relay, the amp has one plugin only marked RLY on the connection diagram, should I just connect the relay plug and do nothing with the alc plug? Any other suggestion about trying to use this amp with the 830 are welcome. I won this amp (new in box) at a drawing for a ham with cancer, does it have any collector value? It has never been used.

Thank you

The jack on the amp is there to key the T/R relay as you discovered.  This amp does not have ALC on it.  It could be added but I don't have any experience doing it for 6LQ6 tubes.  Ask around.

Check out the GI-7B tube conversions for this amp.  A single GI-7b Russian metal ceramic tube does about 600 watts PEP in this amp using a voltage doubler in the power supply.
