For us Hams without VHF APRS coverage, and too cheap to setup a
30meter mobile tracking station, here is a solution using a cellphone.

If any of you have a cellphone with a GPRS data plan, please take a
look here for more info:

You will need a pocketPC with a GPS receiver, and the GPRS internet
connection. It actualy works fine with any "always on" internet
connection, but the GPRS is a must for using it mobile. Tmobile has
free GPRS with any voice plan here in the US. I think in Europe, you
pay by the KB of data used....not sure. But this software only sends
about 20 bytes per position report.

The way I have it set up: The pocketPc is paired to the cellphone via
bluetooth. So I just put the PocketPC somewhere in the car where my
17 year-old daughter wont bother it, and I can see where she is.
Well......I have a feeling she parks the car and takes off with her
friends, but at least I know where my CAR is.

If any of you happen to have all the gear you need to use this and
want to give it a try, I would appreciate any feedback. I havent
tested it with anything except my Asus A716 pocketPC, Compact-Flash
GPS receiver, and Sony-Ericson T610 cell phone.
