The ARRL handbook has an article on how to build a remote, automatic antenna switcher. It has inputs for both Icom and Yaesu units. It would be no trick modifying the device to control just about anything. For example, I use one to auto select the band pass filters in an SG500 amp. It is driven with my Icom 706.

This project has been in the last several years and you shouldn't have any problems finding it over there. In the 2005 handbook it is on page 19.37.

BTW, circuit boards are available from Far Circuits.

Hi there,

Don't know why you want to waste all of your time and, effort with the Yaesu FL-7000 amp.

I have serviced a few few in my time and, they are a total peice of crap!!

Lousey tuner,almost 'brain dead'

A protection circuit that needs to be hightly modified.

The damn thing mis-triggers & shuts down when even using a totally resistive dummy load!

Do yourself a favor.

Throw in in the trash and,buy a real amp.

Get a used Heathkit SB-220 or,almost anything other then a YAESU FL-7000!

You'll be MUCH happier {:<)

By the way...god help you if anyone needs to send equipment in for service here on the West Coast.

They took advantage of an older gentleman out here.

They lied to him about the parts they replaced to the tune of $150 + labor not once but, twice !

They also lied to another ham and, charged him for parts the claimed to have replaved and,did NOT!

Nice honest people huh ? hi,hi.

Pee Ess:I have copies of the invoices if anyone needs proof.

Happy new year !

73,

DE:Bob.
