I have a kenwood ts 830s. Problem is the audio sounds like it is all going through the cw filter. Pinched and low volumn.

Secondly, does anyone know of a repair shop in the W. Michigan area?

I need to ask a question.

1.  Did the rig work properly for a while and then crap out?

                         OR

2.  Did you have the problem from the get go?

If your answer is #1 then some component probably failed.  If your answer is #2 then somebody may have been messing inside of it and it may be an alignment issue OR it still may be a bad component.

Before anyone gives you an answer, we need to narrow our search a little bit.

Thanks for the quick responses!  On re-examining the rig I discovered that apparently on route to my home one of the many circuit board connectors had been jarred just enough to break connection on the PLL board.  So everything is up and running!

Thanks again for the imput. It good to know that there are those that are willing to give help.
