What are some low noise antennas? I'm mainly looking for something that is useful over most of hf, with a tuner or without.

I know that the terminated folded dipole is great at killing man made noise, but ive also heard that the resistors eat up most of your transmit.

Alternatives for low noise/multi band?   What about the buxcomm windoms?

Take a look at some of the reviews elsewhere on eham, and you can get a wealth of information.

Personally, I would recommend the Buckmaster off-center-fed antenna for 80-6.  Quiet, stealthy, sturdy.  Worth it.

Start by looking at designs for receive antennas and you will be light years ahead of the rest of the pack. A combination of a good TX antenna and a good RX antenna is hard to beat. Sign into: http://www.cebik.com/radio.html. It's free.
