I got some questions for the "computer gurus" out ther in "eham land".

First a little backgound information:

I am currently building a computer system. I understand about "form factors" as to how big a case is needed so that the motherboard fits properly and the screw holes line up. In looking at some motherboard specs on a webside, they had listed "SSI MEB" as "form factor". Please forgive my "duh" factor, but I need some "enlightenment" as what "SSI MEB" means. It would also be helpful to find what kind of case this will fit, and if it's "special", the availibility and where to find such an item.

I also need to know where I can get some SDRAM resonably. Need around 32GB (yep, I want plenty of memory).

I know... we ain't exactly talk'n "nuclear physics" here,  I just need a "point" in the right direction.

You will be hard pressed to find a mother board that will  address 32GB of RAM.  Most servers will only do 4-8 GB. What are you building that you need that kind of RAM?

It was for a huge graphics program.

At the time I took on this project, I thought that this was to be used for personal use. I found out later that this was NOT the case. I haven't really done anything, and I told this individual that he would have to find someone else to do it. I only work on mine as a another hobby and told him so. He wanted to use this for a business. I'm not "certified" to work on computers of this nature. He seemed a little upset, but he'll have to get over it.

Sorry guys. At the time I posted the question, I had NO IDEA that this is what this guy was going to do with this computer except work on graphics. I should have known and I've learned from this expericance. From now on, I will not ass|u|me.

Thanks for the responses, but this is one "project" that I'm NOT going to do.

Out.
