Hello everyone,

I have a Radio Shack HTA-20 2 meter amplifier that has a problem.  When I have the antenna and the radio hooked up to it and the amplifier off, the received signals are good and strong.  However, when I turn the amp on the signal is attenuated about 3 s-units.  The amplified signal out appears to be working fine according to tests I have done and signal reports from other stations, it is just the received signal is weakened.  I read in another post somewhere in these forums that a guy had an HTA-20 that the pre-amp section wasn't working properly and he had disabled it.  Does anyone know how to disable the pre-amp on this unit, or have another solution?

Thanks,
KE7LGB
