Just got my FT-840 HF transceiver. I have a 15-amp 13.8VDC power supply which has positive/negative leads as the DC output. The radio, on the other hand, has a 6-port male connector, of which 4 actually have pins. I have looked it up and seems to be a KW200A connector:

My question is: how do I wire the 2 leads from the power supply to the 4 pins of the connector?

Opened up the radio.

The top two pins are shorted together and are the positive. The bottom two are shorted together and are the negative.

Just be careful -- remember that the FT-840 requires a 20 amp supply to operate at full power transmit.  With a 15 amp supply you could transmit, but at reduced power.

The 840 is a nice little rig - enjoy it!

Yup, I'm aware.
