Is there a comparison chart out there that compares features and performance of some of the more popular PSK software?

Sorry about the spellcheck error in the subject.

I don't know of one, but I am sure one exists somewhere on the net.
The performance of most PSK/digimodes software is fairly comparable when it comes to decoding PSK31 for example.
The main features which are digimode related are functions like video-ID, RSID and browser-multiple-decoding capability.
Some programs also have audio filtering options built in, and notch filters for example.

There are both free and payware digimode programs available.

A good freeware digimode program is FLdigi, which supports many modes, and RSID, as well as having a multiple decode capability.

DM780 (part of Ham radio deluxe) version 5.xx is free but future versions will be payware (V 6.xx onwards) by all indications.
Still, DM780 in the free version, has the RSID/Video-ID and supports many digital modes as well.

Multipsk is a shareware/limited-free program which, even in the free version supports many modes and RSID etc.

MixW is another payware program (time limited) which was popular for a long time, but I am not sure of its fortunes currently.

This is only a small sample of the many programs available for digimodes which are more than adequate for PSK and many other digimodes.
In my opinion there are enough high quality free programs to make it unecessary to purchase a program for PSK operation.

However, most of these programs do not stop at digital decoding and sending, but incorporate, rig control, logging and many other functions.
This is the main difference between digimodes programs in my opinion, and is where you will need to decide what you want, and if it is worth paying for.

Most digimodes programs (free included) have logging built in, but some have antenna rotator support, satellites etc.
So what you would like depends on your operating profile and personal preferences in program packaging.

If you just want to get on PSK31, and have a great program, in my opinion, just download FLdigi (it's free), and have fun.

Hope this helps,

73 - Rob
