Steve,

About 25 years ago when I lived in the Valley, I was invited on a factory tour of ASI and could have a "unit" made for me.
Decided against it, had an Alpha 86 which was more then enough and still have it today.

I get most of my 8877 tubes from scientific applications, and from vendors of military PCB, which must be tested with high power RF to be certain the boards will perform in the presence of high RF fields. The test machine tubes are changed out each time they run a batch of boards thru the test. The tubes have maybe 10-50 hours on them. I buy them from an "insider" I know.
