Hello, I am new to PSK and hooked up my sound card interface and have a couple of questions. When looking at the waterfall what is my transmit signal suppose to look like compared to the received signals? Also what is recommended transmit bandwidth?? Thanks

Except for the latest versions of STREAM, all the sound card programs I have tried will freeze the waterfall during TX mode. So you only have a need for the waterfall during RX...
You have no control over your TX bandwidth, but use the narrowest filter you have for RX bandwidth with PSK31.
Actually, your TX bandwidth will increase if you over drive the Mic input of your radio, so get an IMD check from another station and keep it below -20 dB.

I agree with the previous post.  The best way to know that you are not over driving the radio is to look at the rig's ALC.  If there is movement on the ALC, you are overdriving the rig and there is splatter on the other end.  To correct overdrive, simply turn the soundcard volume down until the ALC doesn't kick in.  I have used this technique for 9 months and haven't gotten a complaint yet.

Hope to see you on my screen
