I presently have a TS-140S, a early model "Rascal" interface, and a pretty nice custom built tower running XP.  But, I'm not sure what brand/type of sound card I have in it.  The dude that built the PC is a good friend so not a problem getting something else if easier/better, whatever.  Does a person need the actual "Soundblaster" card to have all the bases covered, or will any 16 bit card do the trick?  What else would I need to add, if anything, to the above mentioned equipment to cover the majority of popular digital modes?  No satellite, eme, that type of thing used here, plain old stuff.  Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.  73's WA├śMNA  Vance

Hi,

Most of the sound cards out there follow the soundblaster standards so you should be ok !

If you have not tried any software yet, here is a
link for Digipan http://www.digipan.net/

I got hooked on digital psk31 at field day.

sstv also works nice with the rascal and
mmsstv   http://www.qsl.net/mmhamsoft/mmsstv/

the sstv is also very good with a fast pc.
